"Coming to America"
Ever since reading Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” when I was a kid, I became enamored with the idea of the aging hero whose bulk chaffed in tailored suits, itching for the days of super powered body armor and capes. Here is King T’Challa, The Black Panther, in a mock up of my hometown’s magazine “Metrotimes”.
I need to work on shading and values more, but I feel like I’m getting the lineless art style down — if I can speed up the process I can start incorporating the style into my comics.
I've been drawing for some time now, and my biggest influences have been comic illustrators Darwyn Cooke, Mike Mignola, Terry Dykstra, Scott Kurtz, Kate Beaton, the guys over at Penny Arcade, and the animator Genndy Tartakovsky. I like quiet, solitude, beer and wine, and cheeseburgers. Please, leave a comment or critique on my works - - I appreciate the input.|
